Henry Laurens

Henry Laurens has a doctorate in history and is recognized as one of the leading specialists on the Middle East. Professor at the Collège de France (Chair of Contemporary History of the Arab World) and at Inalco, he was also Director of the Centre d'études et de recherches sur le Moyen-Orient Contemporain (CERMOC) in Beirut, then Scientific Director of the Institut français du Proche-Orient (Ifpo). Henry Laurens is particularly interested in the study of relations between Israel and the Arab world. In 2004, he received the Prix Joseph du Theil from the Académie des Sciences morales et politiques, and the Prix de l'amitié franco-arabe from the Association de solidarité franco-arabe. Henry Laurens is the author of numerous books.
