The Institute of Civilizations of the Collège de France adopts a new publishing policy focused on open access. With the support of the Documentation and Publications research support unit of the Institute of Civilizations of the Collège de France (DPIC), headed by Pr Vinciane Pirenne-Delforge, under the aegis of the CNRS, the Institute of Civilizations aims to make the research carried out and published within its walls accessible to all.
Nearly three hundred works published since 1932 by the various laboratories of the Institution des Civilisations will gradually be made freely accessible online. Older collections will be available on the Persée platform, and more recent ones on OpenEdition Books, where some of them are already available. Titles still available in paper format are distributed by the Fondation Maison des Sciences de l'Homme, and print-on-demand will be developed for future publications.
With this initiative, the Institute of Civilizations affirms its commitment to the wider dissemination of research and to making knowledge accessible to all, in line with the policy already developed by The Collège de France Publishing Department.
