Anca Gheaus

Anca Gheaus is a political philosopher interested in justice and the normative significance of personal relationships. Before joining CEU, she worked at various universities in Europe. In 2023 she published a co-authored book on Debating Surrogacy (with Oxford University Press). She also co-edited The Routledge Handbook of the Philosophy of Childhood and Children and wrote numerous journal articles and book chapters, primarily on issues concerning childrearing and gender justice. At the moment, Anca Gheaus is working on a monograph on child-centred childrearing, under contract with Oxford University Press. Next is another Routledge book, The Ethics of Childhood, meant to support teaching this subject to advanced undergraduates and graduate students.
