Résumé
Photoinduced electron transfer is the key step in photoredox catalysis. We will briefly review the essential parameters affecting photoinduced electron transfer and how we can control them for the benefit of synthesis. Next, we discuss recent applications of photoinduced electron transfer enabling new synthetic transformations, such as redox neutral C-H carboxylation, dehydrogenation, dearomatization, deracemization and different cross-coupling reactions.
