Two " inter " : Interdisciplinarity and Internationality

In these two common nouns, the preposition " inter- " functions in different ways. In interdisciplinarity, it establishes contact while accepting and respecting the different traditions of the disciplines involved. The noun " internationalité " is not used much, while the adjective " international " is very common. It's about making contact across borders, or even ignoring them.
