Jonathan Culler

Jonathan Culler is Professor Emeritus of English and Comparative Literature at Cornell University, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the American Philosophical Society and the British Academy. After his first book, Flaubert : The Uses of Uncertainty, his research focused on literary theory. Among his books : Structuralist Poetics, On Deconstruction, and Literary Theory : A Very Short Introduction. His Théorie littéraire and Roland Barthes have been published in French. His most recent book is Theory of the Lyric.
