In partnership with the National Center for Cinema and the Moving Image (CNC)
The annual Cinema Chair, established in partnership with the National Center for Cinema and the Moving Image (CNC), promotes reflection, research, and intellectual debate on contemporary issues in cinema. Its primary objective is to highlight the practices, research, and analyses of leading French and international filmmakers and theorists whose works and scholarship vividly illustrate these contemporary issues.
The Chair aims to explore all aspects of an art form that is more than a century old and has the unique distinction of being both a multifaceted aesthetic practice and an industry fully integrated into economic, social, and cultural life. The goal is to offer a comprehensive vision of cinema, to which the unique perspective of each invited guest will contribute over the years, enriched by the diverse approaches of the speakers participating in seminars and conferences.
