Couverture de l'édition imprimée du colloque de rentrée "Genre et sciences", sous la direction de Françoise Combes

For centuries, women scientists have been invisible, ignored or robbed of their discoveries. While the 20th century saw changes in the status of women in the West, opening up access to higher education and the scientific professions, women remain largely under-represented in certain fields of science and, more generally, in most key positions in research and engineering.

The aim of this book is to multiply approaches in order to better grasp the scope of this imbalance, by analyzing the place of gender in science and gender as an object of science, and to put forward concrete avenues to encourage diversity in science and the equitable representation of all talents, thus guaranteeing the continuity of innovation . The book brings together texts by female and male researchers from a variety of disciplines, from history to biology, including mathematics, computer science, sociology, law, economics and philosophy.
