Résumé

IUPAC defines a "mechano-chemical reaction" as a "chemical reaction that is induced by the direct absorption of mechanical energy".¹ We investigated a wide range of organic reactions and found that ball milling can affect the oxidation states of metals^2,3 and self-initiate polymer formations.⁴ Such examples will be discussed and current research directions presented.^5,6
