Abstract
This lecture will build on the theoretical framework linking ecosystem responses to environmental change and the effects on their functioning via the functional traits of organisms. These links have been widely demonstrated for plants, and are beginning to be highlighted for other organisms such as soil microorganisms, soil meso- and macrofauna or large herbivores.
