One of the special features of our species is its great cultural diversity, which, like our genes, is passed down from generation to generation. Human cultural traits, which play a key role in our survival, are passed down through the generations. This raises the question: how do cultural differences between human populations interact with their biological diversity? This lecture will address this question through a number of examples, illustrating how cultural practices can have an impact on the genetic diversity of human populations and their diseases.
