Abstract
Despite major advances, many challenges remain in better understanding, anticipating, and responding to future epidemics. In this final course on future trends, I will discuss how the field of infectious disease modeling can be transformed through the implementation of new types of studies and the deployment of new methodologies, including artificial intelligence. I will discuss the major research themes that can be explored in the coming years.
