Abstract
Composer Thierry Escaich, co-titular of the organ at Notre-Dame de Paris, has been commissioned to compose the Te Deum to be premiered in June 2025. His works are regularly performed, and sometimes premiered, at the Philharmonie de Paris, where he also performs as organist. This lecture-masterclass at the piano will present the contemporary challenges of composition: the creation of new works in a variety of formats is one of the missions of the Cité de la musique-Philharmonie de Paris.
