Interview with conductor and composer Esa-Pekka Salonen, followed by a short concert by musicians from theOrchestre de Paris.
Moderator : Christian Thompson, director of the Orchestre de Paris.
Abstract
Esa-Pekka Salonen is one of the world's most esteemed conductors. As of September 2027, he will be Principal Conductor of the Orchestre de Paris and holder of the Creation and Innovation Chair at the Philharmonie de Paris, thus following in the footsteps of Pierre Boulez, founder of the institution with whom he had a special relationship : that of the artist in the city, questioning our world, dialoguing with creators from other disciplines and horizons, promoting encounters and openness.
With this in mind, he will share with Christian Thompson his thoughts on concert forms and formats and their future evolution.
The discussion will be followed by a concert featuring Orchestre de Paris musicians Joseph André (violin), Flore-Anne Brosseau (viola), Paul-Marie Kuzma (cello) and Ulysse Vigreux (double bass), members of the Page Blanche Quartet.
