Interview with conductor and composer Esa-Pekka Salonen, followed by a short concert by musicians from theOrchestre de Paris.
Moderator: Christian Thompson, Artistic Director of the Orchestre de Paris

Abstract

Esa-Pekka Salonen is one of the world's most esteemed conductors. As of September 2027, he will be Principal Conductor of the Orchestre de Paris and holder of the Creation and Innovation Chair at the Philharmonie de Paris, following in the footsteps of Pierre Boulez, founder of the institution with whom he had a special relationship: that of the artist in the city, questioning our world, dialoguing with creators from other disciplines and horizons, encouraging encounters and openness.

With this in mind, he will share with Christian Thompson his thoughts on concert forms and formats and their future evolution.
