Conversation between Gaëlle Choisne, visual artist, and Patrick Boucheron, Professor at the Collège de France and holder of the Chair in the History of Power in Western Europe, XIIIth-XVIthcentury.
Moderator : Chloë Cambreling.

Abstract

Winner of the Prix Marcel-Duchamp 2024, artist Gaëlle Choisne was one of the Philharmonie's " en résonance " artists during the 2024/2025 season, commissioned to create a work as part of the new Music Museum itinerary, inaugurated in May 2025. The discussion with Patrick Boucheron will focus, on the one hand, on the thinking behind the new tour, i.e. a more global approach to the history of music, with an emphasis on circulations and processes of creolization, and, on the other, on the relationship between music and image, the question of figuration, and the production and reception of images in relation to the musical universe.
