Claudio Galderisi, professor at the University of Poitiers, has finely analyzed the reuse of ancient texts, the interplay between time and the momentum of discourse versus the aesthetics of gloss, in Stendhal's Italian Chronicles ("Stendhal et les Chroniques italiennes: la réécriture entre marginalité esthétique et traduction").
